Nothing smells or tastes as good as fresh Basil in our pesto, soups, caprese salads, and other favorite recipes. But did you know how good fresh basil is for you? It’s packed with disease-fighting antioxidants and essential oils. And now research has found that eating basil fresh, instead of dried, is even better for you. It seems basil loses about one-third of it’s polyphenols when it’s dried. So, when basil is in season, go fresh, and save the dried version for those cold winter soups!
