Trying to get enoughVitamin D in your diet is a healthy choice. But when you simply can’t get enough, maybe because you don’t like fish or you don’t get outside in the sunshine enough, taking a Vitamin D supplement may seem like the next best thing. However, a recent study tested approximately 50 over-the-counter Vitamin D brands and what they found was alarming. It seems about 1/3 of those tested didn’t match up with that their labels stated as the amount of D vitamin included … and some by 91% less! And even as shocking was that some over-the-counter supplements had up to 46% more! It seems the brands that tended to do better were USP-verified, like Kirkland Signature and Nature Made. So next time you pick up your Vitamin D supplement, look for the USP stamp!
